Doug from Burnham-on-Sea, United KingdomNice shot Jason, perhaps yours are the ones under cover !! 9 Feb 2012 8:30am tataray from france, FranceOhhhh... avant de lire, j'ai cru des poubelles !..)) 9 Feb 2012 9:12am Stephen from Canberra, AustraliaIncredible bird's eye view - perhaps your cases were first onboard! 9 Feb 2012 9:55am grouser from Ludlow, United KingdomOh no, gone on that tramp steamer just down the dock. Interesting and almost abstract viewpoint. Though wouldn't it be easier just to carry your own luggage on? 9 Feb 2012 11:13am @grouser: Ha ha - the poor Balmoral. :-)) It would be a lot easier, but I'm afraid boarding a ship is a lot like boarding an airplane. The luggage has to be checked to make sure nothing's coming on board that shouldn't be. Eric Cousineau from Sherwood Park, CanadaThe loading of luggage on a large ship is a wonderous thing to watch! Incredibly it mostly gets to where it belongs! Nicely captured Jason! ;-) 9 Feb 2012 12:44pm B. Thomas from Arlington, Texas, United StatesThis made me smile because I remember seeing a view like this on our cruise, and we tried to spot our bags too. ;-) 9 Feb 2012 2:09pm CElliottUK from Reading, United KingdomI hope you are going to Fiji, 'cos that's where your cases are going! 9 Feb 2012 2:16pm Francisco Romero from Carbajal de la Legua, SpainExcellent capture from this point. I always get a little nervous when I see my luggage away. 9 Feb 2012 3:41pm Nicou from Switzerlandquelle vue plongeante sur ces benne superbe couleur et effet de grandeur comme elle sont si petites. bravo et amitié 9 Feb 2012 4:10pm Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesA great shot from high up. Lots of luggage for a big ship. At first, I thought they were carts but, I see they are pallet/crates that are loaded by forklift. A very interesting shot, Jason. 9 Feb 2012 4:13pm RBL from Oxford, United StatesGreat vantage point, the car and the fork lifts really puts your height into perspective, 9 Feb 2012 5:12pm Joyce from Montana, United StatesCKElliot is a card. [..you didn't go to Fiji did you?] Those long containers look like trash receptacles. Yikes, what if those little fork lift operators got distracted for just one second and.... What a bore this blog would be without all the smartypants followers and their chatter. :D 9 Feb 2012 6:04pm Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesA great overhead shot that shows all the various square and rectangular formations spotted throughout this compo. I just couldn't spot our cases anywhere in those crates. A good reason to carry your camera with you. Plus you don't know how hard they'll be throwing, er loading, your cases. :-) 9 Feb 2012 6:52pm Elaine Hancock from Rockville, United StatesGreat angle! It is amazing how they keep it all straight! 9 Feb 2012 7:03pm Ainsley from Derbyshire, United KingdomReally interesting, you never really consider the logistics involved in loading a cruise liner! hope they don't make a mistake and load those bins and leave the luggage! Good docu shot. 9 Feb 2012 7:10pm Rick from Toronto, CanadaNot something you see every day, to say the least, and a very cool vantage point. 9 Feb 2012 8:27pm Phil David Morris, 2012 from Saskatoon, New York, CanadaAmazing to think of by what magic you came across your luggage in your room. 9 Feb 2012 11:42pm @Phil David Morris, 2012: Thanks Phil! You wouldn't believe how amazing the staff are onboard these ships. They're all top-notch and do their jobs very well. Given that, it's not so hard to believe that, even though this does look like a mess, all the luggage gets to where it's supposed to go. Laurie from Prescott, United StatesA rare shot and rather frightening when you think of your stuff amidst all of that. Great framing and I love the spots of color in contrast to the gray background. Wonderful, Jason! 10 Feb 2012 4:51pm |
