Price Falls 3 of 4

Posted by
Jason Politte (Conway, AR, United States) on 4 June 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Here we see the falls flowing into the stream below. Price Falls is a lesser known waterfall nestled within the Arbuckle Mountains of Oklahoma. This small area is so beautiful and peaceful, it's hard to believe one is still in Oklahoma.

I fully agree with Eric - this one s a "Seller" ! Nothing about this image is less than spectacular! I looked at your yesterday's image because I missed it...all three images are just super but this one really takes the beauty into the stratosphere with your pov, the exposure, the colors, and most importantly (to me) the emotion...this image really PUTS me there...that's what moves me! Just fantastic, Jason...It is amazing to to realize that every State most assuredly has special, magical, mystical places that blow away the common perception that outsiders may have of that particular find these places and spots and to convey them to others in such a beautiful way as you have done here, not only does the State a wonderful PR service, but it, more importantly, blows away those perceptions and stereotypes (especially the "negative" ones) that many people have about a particular State. So, Bravo to you sir and Bravo to the Panhandle State!

@Denny Jump Photo: Thank you very much, Denny! You are quite right in that every state does have its share of wonderful places regardless of what people's notions may be. Of course, one really should also be able to appreciate whatever landscape that surrounds them for what it is. While many people may not be able to appreciate the Great Plains, I was just so enthralled by the landscape during my regular trips out there from 1999 to 2007. The plains are just sooooo flat and offer such grand views of the sky and the most amazing storms, which is why I would go there. It's also just amazing to see the drastic change in vegetation as one goes west. All the trees are stunted and leaning north because of the strong southerlies that prevail there. That's what I think of Oklahoma being and hence made this area with Price Falls all the more special to me.
