The city lights of Dardanelle and Russellville highlight the landscape below as the sky continues to brighten during the predawn light from Mt. Nebo's Sunrise Point.

Denny Jump Photo from Easton, PA, United States

Oh THIS is SPECTACULAR, Jason!! Just a masterful shot - GREAT work with the light all 'round! This image strikes me as one of those shots that look easy as hell but that's only because a master was taking the shot..these can be killers..I LOVE thois one and I love your work! AWESOME :-)

11 Jul 2013 7:01pm

@Denny Jump Photo: Thank you very much for your compliments and comments, Denny! I wouldn't call any of these shots from this location "easy", but these days, I don't think anything of mine that I post is "easy". Seems like I end up doing a minimum of two hours of processing for almost every image anymore. LOL Not sure if you're going to be around, but if you get a chance, please take a moment to check out tomorrow's image as well, as it happens to be my personal favorite of the series. Thanks again very much, Denny!

The contrast between background and foreground is gorgeous, they're quite different, and that's why they work perfectly together. Those colours in the sky are breathtaking.

Pure magnificence to me :-) It's all really gorgeous to look at and the soft pastel colors in the sky are great too. What really gets me is how unique this scene is with the rock, the ground, the grass and the wide open view below. Great image Jason!
